Life Stuff: Dying my hair!

There's something I've  been meaning to do for a long time now. Something I loved a lot and never got around to. Something I'd not done in about 4 years. Lucky for me my lovely friend Dinni is incredibly gifted at dying hair (I've long forgotten the ways).

SPOONIELIFE: When I feel normal

I'm sure you've heard of Chronic or Invisible Illnesses. But have you head of the Spoon Theory?

The quick jist is that it's like each action costs a spoon. To a lot of people getting up seems like one action, right? You get up dressed and start the day, right?

HAUL POST: CutesyKink

DISCLAIMER
The following is a report on the experiences and feelings I had ordering from this company.
This in no way means I'm saying everyone will have the same experience.
I am simply providing an honest review to help people make informed decisions on where to buy their clothes online

No doubt you've heard of this brand on Facebook. If you're into anything cute or have any friends into Japanese fashion you more than likely have and like myself, probably spent more time than you'd care to admit window shopping endlessly through the many cute categories.

The online shopping experience is great. Things are fun, colourful, sorted well and often has suggestions of what clothes would go well with what you are viewing- always nice incase you've overlooked something. The only worry is the extreme lack of reviews on products. How can an online store be this popular with next to no reviews on products?

Just seeing this made me start to feel uneasy about buying here.

Otome Nadeshiko Koi Techou OVA

Episodes: 1
Aired: Jan 26, 2012
Runtime: 10 mins
Producers: Studio Izena

This OVA was bundled with the special version of the Otome Nadeshiko Love Story 2 light novel and it follows the story of a young girl falling in love in Japan's Taishou Period (1912-1926). I usually don't go for historical things, unless you count the special arc in Air, but something about the simplicity of this intrigued me and I'm somewhat looking forward to how a romance would blossom and what etiquette would be.

Renkin San-kyuu Magical? Pokaan

Third-rate Magical Pokaan
Episodes: 12
Aired: April, 5 2006- June, 21 2006
Runtime: 26 mins per episode (5.2 hours total)
Producers: Shinobu Yoshinuma, Nobuhiro Osawa, 室谷陽平, Katsuhiko Nozawa

To be honest I found this anime while deciding to trawl through anime with "idol" in the tags, this one popped up. I looked at the character design and animation style and it reminded me of my beloved 90s anime. Read briefly it was about four princesses.. and I thought, why the heck not!
The opening sequence was the clincher, however I later found it didn't really portray the anime at all- for this, my friends is very much a parody.

DISCLAIMER:
This anime has quite a lot of fanservice and I wouldn't recommend it for young teenagers due to this. In clicking past the cut you are saying you are above the age of 17.

SPOONIELIFE: One week of small, nerdy changes

You all know by now about my Endometriosis and #Spoonie status. Yes I'm a young mother with endometriosis (I will make a bigger post on this later), skeleto-muscular abnormalities, chronic fatigue syndrome and IBS-like symptoms.

With all this comes a lowered immune system, fatigue, constant pain, low mood, anxiety and a feeling like a hook being ripped through my stomach thanks to lovely things called internal adhesions.

While waiting for an MRI my only way to manage is physiotherapy and "resting". Not possible as a single mum! So I've decided to make a few small changes and see how it affects me. I'll outline the things I'm doing every day thanks to the convenience and nagging of smartphones.
If you want you can join in with me and see how it effects you!
Thanks to these apps we can even get some healthy support and competition going.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Character Single Lyrics

It seems I'm reviewing anime, then soundtracks then doing lyrics.. so since I already did a review of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, here's there character single lyrics.
These were written by reading the lyrics on the booklet enclosed with the CDs but hearing the kanji (since there's just too darn many I don't know).

Magical Girl Pretty Sammy OVA

More info here
There's quite possibly no genre I love more than the prevalent magical girl genre, and no better era for anime (in my opinion) than the 80/90's, so why don't we combine the two by looking at this OVA that was a spin-off of the popular Tenchi Muyo!

Goulart Knights: Evoked the Beginning Black

More info here:
When I see there's anime that I've never heard of from the past ten years I feel a bit odd. This is one of those titles, though, granted it's an OVA. With some very minor digging on the internet I found the main platform of this title was a 3 Volume manga

Lovely Idol

Find info here
It's no secret that I have a happy penchant toward the brilliance of all things moe, especially idols. so earlier this year I made a promise to myself to watch all the current idol anime (Idol Defense Hummingbird) and re-watch a few of the old favourites like Full Moon. Who knows I may even brave the Marcoss series with Dr Boyfriend and watch him relive childhood dreams!

Prepare yourself for an onslaught of uplifting, cute plot with enough CD merchandise to build a small, yet comfortable house out of!

Lovedol ~Lovely Idol~ Character Single Lyrics

I couldn't find these lyrics anywhere on the internet.. so I thought I'd start to write down obscure lyrics from soundtrack collections I have.
These lyrics were written by me using the lyric sheets that came with the cds, for kanji I didn't know I used my ears as best as I could. If anyone has any corrections for these, please feel free to comment to me, it'd be a lovely help!

Making my acrylic charms

I feel terrible for not putting out any new content, so here's a quick little art blog.

I'm sure you all at some point either through the blog, Facebook or real life have seen the charms I made, or saw them at some stage of development. What I'm going to do is let you all know the process behind making them. If there's ever a demand for it at all, I can go more in-depth on how to do various steps, but for now I'll do an outline.

This is the process for each individual character charm. This was repeated around 40 times.
Not all of the steps have pictures, sorry!

Summer break!

What can I say, there's not much time for writing when your 4 year old is off school for the summer!

I'll be taking a brief break from posting blogs, and in the meantime will be watching more anime and getting things set up for a new, improved review system. With spoilers included!

Also on the cards is possible affiliation with several Japanese goods so I can have ads tailored to the newest anime releases! Aaaand I recently became admin of the Greater Belfast Otaku Society which works hard to unite and entertain the local community!

There's a lot of exclamation points in this post...

I think that about wraps it up and the tl;dr is that I'm taking a break to build up some rich, meaty animu content with whatever stolen moments I can find.

I hope everyone has a thoughroughly enjoyable spring break, feel free to read past entries if ya'll want.
Enjoy your summer!
In the meantime, be sure to check out the following for (hopefully) more up to date things!

Review: Marimo no Hana: Saikyou Butouha Shougakusei Densetsu

Info here!
Ribon seems to be the best publication for serialising seriously sweet shoujo! I've stumbled across yet another adorable advertisement for a manga (on a roll with alliteration too!). This OVA is set noticeably apart from the OVAs done for Oha Sutax Ribon that I'd reviewed before!
See after the cut to watch it for yourself!

Review: Digimon Adventure

Information here
I'm sure all of us around the age of 15-25 remember watching Digimon; that techno opening and the dream of travelling with a strange monster that could actually tell you stuff (sorry Pokemon...).
If, like me, you watched it in a country other than Japan or America, you probably suffered the same problems trying to watch it in sequence; the local channel would buy 10 episodes, loop them randomly then suddenly have a new episode, then you're right back to episode one. I'm not sure if it was editing or if the battle with Devimon was actually that long!

How does the subbed version of this classic stand? I dedicated loads of time to watching all 54 episodes of this and I regret nothing. Read more after the break!

Review: Time Stranger Kyoko: Leave it to Chocola

This is a spin-off OVA, for details on the manga click here
I'm a huge fan of Arina Tanemura, it all started with Full Moon wo Sagashite and then I went on to Kamizake Kaitou Jeane and made it a goal of mine to read all of her manga. Her style is elegant, cute, detailed, mysterious and her female protagonists are strong-willed but pure and believable. To me she's a shoujo mangaka that can show girls that heroine's don't always need a male to cement what is right for them.

But this... I wish this was the whole series and not a weird side-story.
You can watch the full OVA after the cut.
